About Big Dog Tennis
Dennis Hord - Director of Tennis
Dennis (Big Dog) has over
20 years of professional tennis experience both as
a player and coach. After playing on the men's tour 1978 to 1983, and
being beaten by some of the best players in the world for five years, he decided
to share his knowledge with others.
He moved to Atlanta in 1994 to
help American Davis Cup Captain, Tom Gorman, develop
a world class junior tennis academy.
His background includes: five
years as General Manager/Tennis Director of Olde
Towne of Duluth, member of the United States Professional
Tennis Association with the rating of Professional I, member of the
National Advisory Staff of Wilson Racquets, Head Clinician for the
Jimmy Connors Nuveen Seniors Tour, Coach for the Atlanta Thunder World
Tennis Team with Luke and Murphy Jensen (1993 French Open Champions)
and Patricia Tarabini (1997 French Open Champion), four years traveling
with players on the ATP and WTA Tours and seven years coaching tournament
players in Cleveland, Ohio, where Big Dog Tennis Academy was founded.

All academy professionals have certifications with the United States
Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), the United States Tennis Registry
(USPTR), as well as USA High Performance Coaching.
